BryanFor you tensioner, you took the tensioner from the lower left of the engine and mounted it up to the upper right (where the power steering pump used to be)?

Then you took the idler pulley from where?

How much was the AC delete kit and what was the part number? If you have some better close up pictures that would be great.

I am close to firing up my Duratec on a test stand and this pulley/belt situation is one of the last hurdles.

Thanks,

bradYes, moved tensioner as you described. The idler pulley is just to the right of the alternator, and I moved it down and to the left using want of the timing chain cover bolt holes. It took a longer bolt, and a spacer to get the proper alignment with the rest of the pulleys. I'm going to be traveling for the next week, but will try to get something up for you when I get back.

MarkHi:

I am in the process of finishing a 2.3L powered Lotus 15 Replica, and have a 2.0L Duratec on the dyno.

Some tighter photos of the new belt layout would be really appreaciated. Do you have sketches for the adapters, or did you make them on the fly?

Thx,

Mark

bradHey, an update from the future! Now that the car is running, I want to let everyone know that there is a minor downside to this routing. It turns out the amount of contact between the belt and the water pump pulley is not as much as it should be. On start up, when the engine first revs on start before settling in at idle, there is a pretty loud squeal as the water pump tries to catch up with the rapidly accelerating belt. It's gone in about a second, and you never hear it again, but if you choose to follow this design on your Duratec, I wanted you to be aware of it. I'm going to contemplate how to solve it, but it's way down my list and I can live with it if necessary. By the way, belt dressing helped, but only for one start.
